St Wulstan's Today
As a community we continue to live out our faith through the celebration of Mass. The Saturday 5pm Mass is "Low", offering a solemn dignified ritual without the accompaniment of choir or organ. The Sunday 10:30am Mass has congregational singing backed by the choir and organ.
There is coffee after Mass on the first and third Sundays of the month, served next door in our parish room. A Catechism class for younger members of the Parish preparing for First Communion and Confirmation is held after Mass on the second and fifth Sundays of the month.
Weekday Masses are on Monday and Friday at 09:30 am in the Lady Chapel at Church or at the Priest's House during the winter months. The Monday morning Mass is celebrated in Latin according to the Novus Ordo rite. If travelling specially, please do check the Newssheet as to the availability of these weekday Masses.
A monthly Benediction service is held on a Sunday at 5 pm which is advertised in our weekly Newssheet. As part of our Benedictine character, a small Lectio Divina group meet on the first Friday of the month to listen and mediate on the upcoming Sunday readings. During Lent we do Stations of the Cross on a Friday afternoon, using various versions.
