St Wulstan's Today
As a community we try to live out our faith by the celebration of Mass. The Parish Mass on Sunday morning is sung; the one on Saturday evening has no singing. Both have several brief moments of silence. On the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month normally coffee is available in the parish room after the 10.30 Mass. The Sunday afternoon traditional Latin Mass, hosted, though not organised, by the Parish, is open to any who wish to participate. Weekday Mass is normally on Monday and Friday mornings at the Lady Chapel altar in St Wulstan’s Church.
Baptisms can be arranged in consultation with the parish priest. Preparation for first holy communion and for confirmation is led by a catechist or the parish priest. The sacrament of reconciliation (confession) is available on Saturdays (4.15 - 4.45pm), and at other times by request.
There is adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the last Saturday of each month, centering prayer on the third Thursday and lectio divina on the first Thursday. We organise an annual summer parish pilgrimage to such places as Harvington Hall, Walsingham, the monastery of Our Lady and St Bernard at Brownshill, and Prinknash Abbey. There is also at least one Day of Recollection in the spring or early summer.
