Nonsuch Singers
Those attending Sunday morning Mass on the 9th July 2023 were given a wonderful surprise as the members of "Nonsuch Singers" filled the choir loft. After an amazing concert at Great Malvern Priory on the Saturday evening, they visited St Wulstan's church to sing the William Byrd Mass for four voices. It has certainly stood the test of time as it was written toward the end of the 16th century. What is even more amazing is that William Byrd was a devout catholic and this was the reign of Elizabeth I.
It was a bit of a crush to get them all up in the choir loft but, I think those present in the congregation will remember the singing for a very long time. It's a pity we haven't got a recording of the sung Mass but if you want further detail of the choir try, www.nonsuchsingers.org.uk
